Frames
The main purpose of a frame is to complement and
draw attention to the image that it surrounds. It also has to match
the decor of the room that it is to be displayed in. We have a wide
range of standard frame styles, ranging from traditional to contemporary,
a selection of which is shown below.
Hand-finished Frames

We make hand-finished frames in either traditional
or contemporary styles using a wide range of techniques such as
paint effects on gesso, wood stains, liming and metal leaf gilding.
Prices are often not much more than standard frames.

Mounts
Mounts give the artwork more prominence, drawing
the eye in to the image. In order to function effectively, they
should not be too distracting, therefore it is a good idea to stay
away from colours which are stronger than those in the image, or
do not reflect colours in the image. White and antique white mounts
work well for the majority of pictures. However, used wisely, coloured
mounts can be very effective when reflecting the ‘mood’
of the image. Double or triple mounts provide a subtle border to
the art, and wide mounts give a very contemporary look, especially
when used with smaller or square images. Oval mounts for portraits,
etc. can also be made. We have a large range of mount samples that
we can place next to your art to find the ideal combination.

Other Frame Elements
Glazing
Most of the time plain glass is all that is needed,
however, under certain circumstances anti-reflective, museum quality
or laminated glass may be called for. If a frame is large and needs
to be transported, perspex can be used. We'll be happy to advise
what is necessary.
Hanging accessories.
We stock a range of hanging hardware, from D-rings
and string to anti-theft systems. Let us know what you need.
